RAISING VOCATIONS COLLECTION KICKOFF - Raising Vocations for Tomorrow, Help them say Yes!: As friends and followers of Jesus, we need to accompany our young men and women as they discover Jesus and consider a vocation to religious life. In one week, you can do just that by supporting the Raising Vocations Collection! Watch your mailboxes for more details. Your gift will benefit ministries that journey with young people to help them discover Christ and say “yes” to a vocation to the priesthood or religious life. This work happens through youth conferences, campus ministry, youth and young adult ministry and much more. Because of you, we can support our youth and help them hear the call God has for them. Thank you for your generosity! To make your gift today, Click Here or call Tammy Danz at (920) 272-8123. On August 10-11, seminarian Jacob Bovee, will speak at our Masses so we can hear about his journey and how we can help.

CONFERENCE ON THE EUCHARIST | AUGUST 14TH AT 7:00 pm - In the wake of the National Eucharistic Congress that was held in Indianapolis in July of this year, Stella Maris Parish is presenting an evening conference on the Eucharist. The speakers will include three members of the Parish clergy who attended the Eucharistic Congress, along with the Parish’s Director of Music and Worship.

The conference will start at 7:00 pm at the Stella Maris Fish Creek church (directions below).

The conference speakers will be our Pastor, Father Tom Farrell, and two of our Deacons, Dcn Tony Abts and Dcn David Kowalski. The speakers will recount their experiences at the Eucharistic Congress and how they relate to our Catholic devotion and the Sacrament of Holy Communion.

Our Director of Music and Worship, Beth Screnock, also attended the Eucharistic Congress and she will be presenting a musical perspective on the Eucharist and the liturgical context for the giving and receipt of the Body of Christ at Mass.

As did the National Congress, this conference is intended to be a time for people to gather and focus on the way that we are able to commune with the Lord by taking into ourselves the body, blood, soul, and divinity of his Son. It is a chance for us to reflect on the fact that whatever may be happening in the world or in our lives, the Holy Spirit awaits us in each celebration and sacrifice of the Mass.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend this conference – whether you are a practicing Catholic, a lapsed or occasional Mass-goer, or a non-Catholic who is interested in learning more about the real presence of Jesus Christ in a Sacrament that is offered many times a week, right here in your community.

We will also have Mass an hour before the conference begins. It will start at 6:00 pm, and will be a vigil Mass for the Assumption of Mary – which is the Holy Day of Obligation that falls on the next day (August 15).

Directions:  Stella Maris Fish Creek (St Paul’s church) is located at 4012 Highway 42, in the heart of Fish Creek, across from the Fish Creek entrance to Peninsula State Park.

If you have any questions about the conference, you may call our Parish office on weekdays at (920) 868-3241.  Click Here for a printable version of this document to share with others.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR SPIRITUAL GIFTS ARE? - Have you heard about Charisms, but not fully understood what they are? On Monday September 9, Mike Iverson, Discipleship Director of Spiritus, will present a Spiritual Gifts/Charism from 9-3PM at the Sister Bay site.  Lunch will be provided.

Charisms, or spiritual gifts, are special abilities given to all Christians by the Holy Spirit meant to be used to build up the body of Christ. Whether extraordinary or ordinary, all charisms ought to be exercised in the service of God. As we are all disciples, the Faith Formation committee felt it was important to offer this special retreat.

RSVP’s are needed for this event so that adequate material and lunch and snacks can be provided.

Please contact Jan Liss with any questions you may have at 920-839-2630 or Click Here and RSVP to Jan or any Faith Formation committee members: Sharon Brabson, Lori Carlson, Deacon Duderstadt, Lee Levoy, Angela Packard.
